The Star Block is in Osage City, a community of about 3,000 in eastern Kansas, 35 miles south of Topeka. The building is at 520 Market Street, in the heart of downtown, surrounded by boutiques, offices and shops. Nearby are the restored Santa Fe railroad depot, which is now the Osage County Railroad and Mining Museum, and Santa Fe Park. The Flint Hills Trail, a 117-mile hiking and biking trail now being completed and turned into a state park, is set to run just behind the Star Block when the route through town is finished.
